Unite union members working at the Keighley waste depot in Royd Ings Avenue donated cash towards a collection for the Poppy Appeal.

Union representative, Joe Booker, said the £31 given by the workers last month was supplemented by a further £20 from the Bradford Unite branch.

“We’d been talking about having a collection for the past few years but hadn’t got round to it, so I just decided to do it this year,” he explained.

He said part of the money would be spent on a poppy wreath. He will take the wreath with him to Keighley Cenotaph for this year’s Remembrance Day on behalf of Unite staff.
