Visitors to Haworth would have been forgiven for thinking it was the height of summer thanks to a horticultural show.
The Worth Valley Horticultural Society held its flower and vegetable show in the village’s community centre, and there were nearly 250 exhibits on display.
It was the second year of the competition, and organisers say it seems to be gaining in popularity as more people hear about it.
The show was introduced to create a way for growers to exhibit the flowers and veg that don’t bloom until after the usual summer show season, such as chrysanthemums and dahlias. There were 24 exhibitors at the show.
Spokesman, Mike Cunningham, said: “The standard of the entries was A1 – all the judges commented on the high standard.
“I was an improvement on last year, and if it carries on improving like this it is going to end up being a very popular annual event.”
He estimates at least 250 people visited the show during the day.
He thanked the judges, the community centre for providing the venue and everyone who supported the event.
The silver medal for best dahlia exhibit was won by John Oxley, while runner-up Mike Cunningham received the bronze medal.
Both the silver and bronze medals for best chrysanthemum were won by Alan Smith, while the best vegetable silver medal went to Noel Kitchen.
Anne Blades won the geranium and fuchsia rosette, Stuart Shackleton best rose, A Greenwood best sweet pea, Dennis Rawson-Chad best gladiolus and E Coatesworth best carnation.
