The Scarecrow Festival committee would like to thank all those who made a scarecrow and took part in the recent weekend. Donations of £500 each have been given to Manorlands and Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service.
Harden parish council meets at Memorial Hall next Thursday, October 10, at 7.15pm.
If you would like to know more about what is happening in your village, attend one of the monthly meetings held by our parish/village councils. Cullingworth village council meets the first Wednesday each month, 7.30pm, Methodist Church, DellsideFold; Harden parish council (including Ryecroft) meets the second Thursday each month, 7.15pm, Memorial Hall; Wilsden parish council (including Harecroft) meets the first Monday each month, 7.30pm, village hall. Notification and agendas of each meeting are posted on the relevant village noticeboards a week before. There is a 15-minute open session at the beginning when the public has an opportunity to voice concerns, after which you are welcome to stay and observe.

There will be a session for pre-school children “Movement, singing and story time” organised by Bingley Rural Children’s Centre held on Thursdays, 1.30pm-2.15pm at Cullingworth Methodist Church. For details, call 01274 434850.
There will be a Harvest Festival Service at St John the Evangelist Church Cullingworth, 10am on Sunday, when offering of gifts for the Food Bank and Shoeboxes for Joy will be received.
If you want to make new friends, pop along to the New Inn, Main Street, Wilsden, Wednesday, 2–5pm for afternoon tea and cakes.
The Cullingworth pre-school is OFSTED-registered and offers both sessional and day care, Monday to Friday during term times, 9am-12.30pm, including lunch club, at the village hall.

Harden pre-school group for two years to school age, meets weekdays during term times, 9am-3.15pm (including lunch club), Memorial Hall.
Wilsden pre-school group is run by qualified staff, 9-11.30am and 12.45-3.30pm weekdays during term time in the village hall. For details, call 275534.
In conjunction with our local medical practice, two weekly walking groups meet in our villages. The Cullingworth group meets today at 9.15am, Methodist Church Dellside Fold. Contact Peter Rye 642136, or just turn up. The Wilsden Walkers meet 9.15am, Monday, Wilsden village hall. Contact Pat on 0779 6504900. The walks last for around an hour and are suitable for most people, as long as they wear appropriate footwear and clothing. No dogs other than guide dogs are allowed.
A taught art class, is held today St John’s Room, Cullingworth, 7–9pm.
The Cullingworth Toddler group meets Thursdays during term times, St John’s Room, 9.15–11am.
