Monday: An Ofsted-inspected pre-school playgroup operates every day, Monday to Friday in the room below the Exley Head Methodist Church, 9am-12pm and 12.15pm-3.15pm, during term time. They offer free places for children from two years whose circumstances are such that they qualify. They also now offer a lunch club for children who are attending all day.

Low Fold family centre: On Tuesday afternoons there is a Stay and Play, 1pm-3pm. There is a baby group on Wednesday afternoons 1.15pm-2.45pm. There is also a Stay and Play group for child minders with children from 0 to 5 years in the morning from 9.15am-11.15am. On the third Thursday of every month, Embrace support group meet 9.15am-11.15am There is also a Stay and Play group from 9.15am-11.15am Fridays. The Family Club for 0 to 8 years meets on the second Saturday, 10am-noon.
Young parents under the age of 25 are invited to a new group on Thursdays, 1pm-3pm.
The next meeting of Exley Head Ladies circle will be on Tuesday at 7pm. The evening will start with a pie and pea supper and will be followed by local historian Ian Dewhirst giving a talk on ‘Life in the Fifties’. Tickets will be £5 from Glenis on 01535 640346 and proceeds from the evening will be shared between The Parkinson Society and Ladies Circle.
