On Saturday, September 28, Stanbury held its first Harvest Festival Bake Off. The organisers would like to thank everyone who helped and contributed to making the day a great success. Haworth’s West Lane Methodist congregation hosted a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support last Friday in the communal lounge at Thornfield, Station Road. The event raised £222. This brought the total raised by the church since 2003 to £1,341. The event was attended by the Rev Ruth Crompton, the new minister, who is also superintendent of the Airedale Methodist circuit.
Stanbury and District Women's Institute are going to have an evening visit to Country Harvest near Ingleton tonight. The Aire Gap Group Rally this year will be hosted by Morton WI on Tuesday when costume expert Gillian Stapleton will speak on "200 years of Royal brides".
Haworth West Lane Baptist Amateur Operatic Society are rehearsing Gilbert and Sullivan’s Princess Ida to be performed at the Chapel from Monday, November 18 to Saturday, November 23 November at 7.15pm. with a matinee performance at 2.15pm on the last day. CarelinK befriending scheme can provide support and companionship to older people who live alone and do not have many visitors. CarelinK can arrange for one of its volunteer befrienders to visit each week for a cuppa and a chat. Volunteers are police checked and vetted.
