Groovy street dancers at Cowling Primary School are having fun and keeping fit in a new sports initiative.
The school is working with Sportscool, a company that works across Lancashire and Yorkshire, to promote the importance of exercise and to enhance teachers’ subject knowledge.
Pupils from reception through to year six are taking part in the street dance project, led by Hannah Taylor of Sportscool.
The hall is filled with music every Monday and Friday afternoon, and the fun goes on with a popular street dance after-school club every Friday.
Hannah said: “The children are loving it. It’s great to see them all moving and enjoying themselves so much.
“They like listening to the music and learning the dance moves. There is a trophy to be won for the dancer we feel has benefited and enjoyed the project the most, while all the other children receive a medal. It’s good fun!”
