Oakbank pupils who have demonstrated an ability to show leadership and responsibility have been appointed to important roles at the school.
Fiona Berry, of the Keighley school’s enrichment team, said: “One of our duties for September was to select a head boy or girl, plus assistants, for each year group.
“This is similar to the old system when schools had prefects.
“As a school, we want to give students a chance to expand their CVs through a range of opportunities, and develop the qualities necessary to enhance their employability and life skills.
“The students had to write a letter of application and were then shortlisted for interview. The standard of applications was very high, with students demonstrating good leadership skills, confidence and maturity.”
