Stanbury residents are being invited to take a journey through five decades of Stanbury’s past.
They can watch a slide show featuring 400 images captured by lifelong resident, Teresa Baines.
The event at Scartop Chapel on October 19, entitled A Trip Down Memory Lane, will raise money for Manorlands.
Teresa is organising the event with Kathleen Snowden, a fellow Scartop congregation member.
Teresa, 73, lived at Far Coney Garth Farm in Stanbury as a child, and now lives at neighbouring Near Coney Garth Farm.
Since the 1960s, she has photographed many church, school and public events, as well as well-known people in the village.
One particular focus has been Scartop, a hamlet near Stanbury, where Teresa has attended the chapel since the 1960s.
She said: “I used to take the Sunday School for 25 years at Stanbury Church and at Scartop.”
Teresa added she had taken pictures of the many church picnics and outings to Wycoller, over the hill towards Colne. She said: “I also took a lot of photographs of Stanbury village, galas, garden parties in the schoolyard and local people I met on my travels. “A lot of them have died now, but it’s good to look back and see people we knew. People like to see themselves in the pictures.”
Kathleen said there were many photos from the 1970s, as well as the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977.
She added: “Wherever Teresa went, she had a camera with her.”
Tickets for the slide show cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for children. They are available by contacting Kathleen on 01535 642915.
