I have just returned home after a walk up the length of Kirkgate in Silsden.

My walk coincided with an emergency ambulance, with siren blaring, going in the direction of Bolton Road.

This reminded me of thoughts I had a few weeks ago as to what arrangements, if any, exist if such an emergency (ambulance, police or fire engines) coincided with the bicycles competing in the Tour de France rushing down Bolton Road and Kirkgate, or indeed any other road on their route.

Who would take precedence?

I do hope emergency vehicles would not be diverted so as to lengthen their journey times!

I do know that I frequently hear those sirens passing to or through Silsden.

Can anyone enlighten me and any others who may be interested to know?
