I have just read your article, ‘Second school inquiry opened’ (April 24).

I am a parent of two children at Long Lee. One is doing Year 2 Sats and my eldest will be doing them next year.

The communication to parents about what has been going on is non-existent. Meanwhile, there are several rumours flying around. What I do know is there have been a lot of staff absences leading to numerous supply teachers in post.

Julie Butler (Parkwood Primary School headteacher) has done a very good job in the past few months, but sadly she is returning to Parkwood.

As a parent, I am extremely concerned about my children’s education. My eldest fell behind targets last year (previously always above targets) because the class had a turbulent year with various different teachers. The current teacher is working extra hard to bring the class up to standard for Sats next year.

The council should be forced to give answers. They have a duty of care to educate our children, and we have a right to know whether it is up to the right standard.

There has been too much information hidden from parents and the public, and it’s about time a public inquiry happened.

There will be many more disgruntled parents, concerned about their children’s education. Please keep it in the public eye in the Keighley News.
