Volunteers play a vital role in fundraising for Airedale Hospital.
In recent years, the volunteer groups Airedale New Ventures and Friends of Airedale have been responsible for much of the fundraising.
The hospital’s dedicated fundraiser, Bronagh Daly, has spent a lot of time with two special volunteers, Eileen Proud and Mike Yates, chairmen of the two independent charities.
Bronagh said: “Both the two charities have a dedicated army of volunteers who help run the two shops in the hospital.
“Without their generosity, there would be many a ward without resources and equipment to help enhance patient care.”
Karen Williams has become the first volunteer working on the Emergency Department Appeal.
She will be at a children’s bike event organised by the Rotary Club of Skipton on May 18, entitled Le Tour de Mart.
Airedale Hospital Emergency Depart-ment Appeal will have a stall at the event, with face painting, a tombola and an information area.
Karen said: “It is a great feeling to volunteer, and I am pleased I can do my bit to help with the fundraising appeal.”
Visit the stall between 9am and 2.30pm or e-mail david.goldie@skiptonrotary.org for further information.
