An evening of light entertainment from the Cobbydale Singers followed by a quiz is being held in Silsden to launch Christian Aid Week. This Saturday’s event is at St James’ Church Hall at 7pm. Tickets are £5, or £3 for children, including refreshments. Call (01535) 655347.
St James’ Church, Silsden, is hosting the Mothers’ Union coffee morning on Saturday from 9.30-11.30am with various stalls including a plant stall.
Silsden Amnesty group meets on the second Monday of every month in Silsden Methodist Church, Kirkgate, at 7.30pm. We write letters and send e-mails to, and on behalf of, people across the world suffering from injustice and ill treatment. We welcome new members. Our next meeting is on Monday at 7.30pm and we hope to see you there.
The last meeting of the 2013-14 season of the Civic Society will take place in the Methodist Church on Thursday, May 15 when Jen Miles will give an update on the Swartha Wood project. Doors open at 7pm and the talk starts at 7.30pm followed by refreshments at 8.30pm. All welcome.
There will be a charity Zumbathon marathon held at the Town Hall on Sunday, May 18, with all proceeds donated to Manorlands. There will be a fantastic prize draw on the day where winners can buy tickets to win a girly spa day for four or a family ticket to watch Bradford Bulls, plus other fabulous prizes such as photo shoots, hair salon vouchers and beauty treatments. There will be refreshments to purchase too. This is a fun event not to be missed. Tickets are available at class or by contacting Helen on 07817 532364 and cost £10.
