Staff and regulars at the Dickie Bird pub in Long Lee have presented £900 to Sue Ryder.
Funds were raised during the pub’s Tuesday night bingo evenings during the past year. And this has been added to the Dickie Bird’s Bonus Ball game and proceeds of other fund-raising events.
Sue Ryder regional fundraiser, Andrew Wood, was presented with the donation, and thanked the pub for its support.
He promised, at the pub’s request, the money will go to Sue Ryder’s Wheatfields Hospice in Leeds, where the loved one of a regular had been cared for. Andrew added: “This is a thriving pub with lots going on, and landlord and landlady – Colin and Bev Cooney – and their customers support Sue Ryder in lots of ways throughout the year.”
