Keighley News readers have resp-onded magnificently with fund-raising ideas and pledges for the Emergency Department Appeal.
And hospital staff are also doing their bit.
“We are really touched at how many donations are being made,” said A&E consultant, Chinedu Orazulume.
“The Emergency Department Appeal means so much to the local community, and we thank each and every business, club, school and church group that has been in touch to let us know about the funds they have been raising.”
Staff nurse, Clare Sutcliffe, added: “We received a message from a lady to let us know she is organising a charity tennis match and another local church group has just told us it has held a cake sale, with all proceeds going to our appeal.
“We want to say thank you to everyone who has also made anonymous donations. Even though we cannot thank you all in person, we want you to know your generosity will help to enhance patient care on our ward.”
Fundraising events planned by staff include a sponsored walk on the Pennine Way and a summer fete.
