FAMILIES will this weekend prepare for the annual Lantern Beats procession in Lund Park.
They can go along to the first of two town centre workshops to make lanterns for the parade in the Keighley park.
Professional artists from Small World Arts Collective will lead a workshop at their headquarters in Russell Street, from 11am to 1pm.
There will be another family workshop on December 13 at the same time, ready for the procession at 6pm that evening.
The Lantern Beats procession will promenade around Lund Park, led by the Jamba Samba band from Keighley’s Jam On Top music studio, and finish with a fire show, singing and hot drinks.
The event, organised by Lund Park Community Group, will involve pupils from Holycroft, Nessfield, and St Joseph's primary schools, and the Sue Belcher Centre in Bracken Bank.
Community worker Jo Horrox said: “Lantern Beats is a community event for everyone!”
