A RIDDLESDEN schoolgirl has won a festive jumper contest staged by ITV's This Morning programme.
Aliya Urfan's design was among just three chosen from hundreds of entries in the Knit Before Christmas challenge.
And her creation was sported on-screen by show presenter, Phillip Schofield, on Monday.
"We were all absolutely delighted and very proud," said a spokesman for Riddlesden St Mary's Primary School, where seven-year-old Aliya is a pupil.
"The children watched the programme in the hall and cheered when they saw the jumper on the TV."
All the pupils were invited to create designs and the best two from each class were chosen to be entered in the competition.
"The other two national winners are both adults so it is quite an achievement for Aliya to be amongst them," said the spokesman.
All three jumpers are now being sold on the Text Santa eBay site to raise money for charity.
Visit itv.com/textsanta for further details. The sale closes on Monday (Dec 8).
