IRISH contemporary classical composer Ailís Ní Ríain will play her own Bronte-inspired work at the former home of the literary sisters.

She will perform her compositions, Linger, on the piano once played by Emily Bronte.

Linger features six pieces, each between three and five minutes long and inspired by the rooms at the Bronte Parsonage Museum in Haworth.

The music installation can be heard at the museum until January 3.

And tomorrow (Oct 30), at 7.30pm, Ailís will play live on the recently-restored piano as part of Museums at Night celebrations.

"Linger generally seems to have been well received by visitors," said Ann Dinsdale, for the museum.

"This week's event gives people the opportunity to hear the piano, which was purchased by Patrick Bronte in the 1830s for his children.

"Emily was an extremely accomplished musician."
