TWO men appeared in court earlier today charged with the robbery of the Co-op store in Oxenhope.
Wayne Pogson, 33, of Grayswood Crescent, Holme Wood, and Dewsbury man Scott Priestley, 38, of no fixed abode, indicated not guilty pleas to the alleged offence at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court.
The pair are both charged with robbery and the theft of a motor vehicle.
They will now appear at Bradford Crown Court on August 4.
Police arrested two men following the robbery at the store, in Station Road, in the early hours of yesterday morning. (July 6)
Officers found the shutters at the shop had been damaged and items including tobacco were missing.
Two suspect vehicles, including one stolen from Oxenhope, were located in Hebden Bridge.
A third man, aged 35, has been bailed pending further inquiries.
A spokesman for the Oxenhope Co-op said that as a result of the burglary the store had to open at 9am yesterday instead of the usual time of 7am.
He added: “The police are investigating, and, as with any incident such as this, we would appeal for anyone with information to come forward.”
