by Sheila Robinson, Keighley Shared Church
THE most precious gift we have is life.
Recent tragic events in London and Manchester and the Grenfell Tower fire have underlined for us how fragile and uncertain it is.
I heard one survivor of the market attack say she would never take life for granted again and appreciate every day.
Our potential and capacity to enjoy life is part of who we are.
The birth of a new baby is a time of celebration and excitement as we look at the amazing possibility in this little one and yet we are so often overwhelmed by the difficulties we meet.
Illness, money problems, difficult relationships, loneliness and lack of self esteem can take away our hope and joy.
Jesus said that he came to give us life in all its fullness and as Christians we experience this life, not because we have no problems but because in among them we know we are loved, accepted and free from guilt.
Knowing Jesus makes a difference.
On Saturday (July 1), Keighley churches are holding a Festival of Life on Church Green with free food, music, activities and space for you to talk and be listened to. We would love you to join us.
