SO, the fight against crime continues.
The first line of action is the closure of the police station in Royd Ings Avenue and, as the public knows, it cost a few million pounds to provide – money well spent!
The second line of action is to transfer what few police we have to Bradford, or maybe elsewhere. The criminals, by now, will be quaking in their shoes.
No doubt the police will be on red alert and ready to respond to any 999 call and race to the scene of the crime, that is if they answer the phone. My wife called the police and it was a quarter-of-an-hour before the phone was answered. No doubt times may vary as to when the call is answered.
So, as for making people safe and the streets safe, it will not be achieved by the closure of police stations and the removal of the police.
The only people to benefit will be the criminals.
