SO Keighley's countdown to Christmas has officially begun.
Crowds turned out in force on Sunday for the switch-on of the town's festive lights, by Coronation Street star Antony Cotton.
It was a hugely successful day, with the public really getting behind the activities.
This week has also seen the launch of Keighley Independents.
The initiative – which runs until December 21 – aims to encourage people to use independent, high street businesses.
Whilst internet shopping has many attractions, it is essential that our local outlets are not forgotten, particularly at this extremely important time for retailers.
A revolution in buying habits and difficulties in competing have already seen long-established independents vanish from our streets in recent years.
We don't want to lose any more.
