THE KVU Singers will give their Christmas concert on Sunday, December 17 at 2.30pm in Keighley Shared Church.
Joining them on the festive occasion will be the East Morton CE Primary School Choir, which has grown considerably over the last couple of years and now includes up to 50 members.
Also adding to the variety of music will be the Yorkshire Brass Quintet, which was founded by Duncan Morrell and uses players from all over the county.
The quintet play a wide range of music stretching from classical and Baroque to rock and pop.
The KVU Singers programme will include traditional and modern carols such as Jonanthan Willcocks’ setting of The Holly and the Ivy, two Spanish carols by Andrew Carter, and a piece specially written for the choir in 2014 by young composer Owain Park.
This concert is the final event in a busy year for the KVU Singers during which they celebrated the 50th year of their “indefatigable and enthusiastic” conductor Frank Smith.
In Keighley, Frank will be assisted by regular accompanist Nick Watts.
