EXTRAORDINARY eggs, marvellous maps and amazing views are promised this Easter, thanks to the Brontë Parsonage Museum.
The Haworth literary shrine is laying on a host of activities during the school holidays, running from March 30 to April 13.
Inside the museum families can have a go at an Easter trail, red the dressing up box and take part in ‘hands-on history’.
Wild Wednesday! on April 4 will allow children to use different dyes and techniques to make colourful eggs to take home.
Wild Wednesday! on April 11 will allow children to design secret maps inspired by the Brontë siblings’ love of creating maps for their own imaginary worlds.
Both activities run from 11am to 4pm.
Every day during the Easter holidays, visitors can join experts four in 90-minute walk, discovering Penistone Hill, which was part of the Brontë family’s beloved moorland landscape.
A spokesman said: “As well as admiring the amazing views we will take a look at the natural and industrial history and share insights into its inspirational role in the Brontës’ writing.”
The museum’s monthly Brontë Treasures afternoon will be held on March 30 at 2pm, when visitors can go beyond the security cord for a close-up viewing of items not normally on display.
A member of the curatorial team will spend an hour sharing facts and stories about the objects.
