BRONTE experts will gather in Leeds on December 8 for a special event exploring the life of Wuthering Heights author Emily.
Bronte Parsonage Museum curator Ann Dinsdale will be among speakers at Leeds Library for Making Thunder Roar, which takes its title from the current exhibition at the museum.
Ann, author Caryl Phillips, pictured, and novelist Michael Stewart explore their relationship with one of the most enigmatic figures in literature, and discuss how crafted their personal responses to Emily as part of the exhibition.
Caryl has written books of non-fiction and fiction, with his Dancing in the Dark winning the 2006 PEN Open Book Award and A Distant Shore winning the 2004 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize.
Michael is a multi-award winning author, based in Bradford, whose debut novel, King Crow, was published in 2011 and won The Guardian’s Not-the-Booker Award.
Ann has worked at the Haworth museum for more than 25 years, and has written extensively on the Brontëes.
