THE LION King first hit the big screens back in 1994 with a fantastic story of Simba a young lion cub destined to be king of the Pride Lands.
The 1994 Lion King was also Disney’s first animated feature to be an original story, rather than be based on an existing work.
Twenty-five years later we see a new live action remake, so we all get to relive the amazing story of The Lion King (PG) which will show at the Picture House from July 19.
Simba (Donald Glover) idolises his father, King Mufasa (James Earl Jones), and takes to heart his royal destiny on the plains of Africa.
But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Mufasa’s brother and former heir to the throne, has plans of his own.
The battle for Pride Rock is soon ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile.
With help from a curious pair of newfound friends (Seth Rogen & Billy Eichner), Simba must figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.

Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw (certificate to be confirmed) drifts its way into cinemas from August 1.
Hulking lawman Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Jason Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, swapping fighting talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down.
Then cyber-genetically-enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (Vanessa Kirby), Shaw’s sister.
As a result, sworn enemies Hobbs and Shaw have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves.
