WITH another amazing awards evening in 2019 for Keighley’s annual River Aire Ten Minute Amateur film festival, it’s great to see the quality for the amateur films improve year-on-year.
I really look forward to next year’s films and supporting the festival because all top film makers start somewhere!
Almost 30 years after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, a new, modified liquid metal Terminator (Gabriel Luna) is sent from the future by Skynet in order to terminate Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes), a hybrid cyborg human (Mackenzie Davis), and her friends.
Sarah Connor comes to their aid, as well as the original Terminator, for a fight for the future.
Terminator: Dark Fate (15) is the sixth Terminator film to hit the cinemas and you can see it from October 24. It’s been 35 years since the first Terminator film and the franchise is still as popular as ever.
Now for this year’s Halloween releases! First of all something for those little monsters!
The Addams Family (PG) has its UK release on October 25 and promises both scares and laughs as members of the mysterious and spooky Addams family, Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Wednesday, Uncle Fester and Grandma, are readily preparing for a visit from their even creepier relatives.
But trouble soon arises when shady TV personality Margaux Needler realizes that the Addams’ eerie hilltop mansion is standing in the way of her dream to sell all the houses in the neighbourhood.
The Addams Family were originally created in 1938 by Charles Addams as a cartoon comic then in 1964 they were transformed into a short-running television series that became very popular.
Over the next few years they were remade numerous times until 1991 when they starred in their first set of films featuring the talents of Raul Julia, Anjelica Huston, Christina Ricci and Christopher Lloyd.
So why not pop along with the family for the Halloween holiday?
If you’re feeling a little more brave and fancy some creeps too then Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep (15) is released on October 31.
Struggling with alcoholism, Dan Torrance remains traumatized by the sinister events that occurred at the Overlook Hotel when he was a child.
His hope for a peaceful existence soon becomes shattered when he meets Abra, a teen who shares his extrasensory gift of the “shine.”
Together, they form an unlikely alliance to battle the True Knot, a cult whose members try to feed off the shine of innocents to become immortal.
