KEIGHLEY Film Club members fondly remember the movie The Lunch Box, directed and written by Ritesh Batra.
On Sunday February 16 they will welcome back Ritesh with a new film, Photograph, a drama-romance with English subtitles.
Rafi (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is a struggling street photographer in Mumbai who begins to develop an offbeat relationship with Miloni (Sanya Malhotra) following pressure from his grandmother Banke (Akash Sinha).
He photographs tourists and visitors to the Gateway of India monument and among them is shy stranger Miloni.
Banke wants to know what his marriage plans are, even though he does not have a girlfriend, and she goes to the extent of telling people in Rafi's community that she will refuse her medication until he announces his marriage plans.
When Rafi shows Banke the picture of Miloni, she wants to meet her.
Miloni is studying for an accountancy degree and is unhappy with her envisaged future – this partly explains why she agrees to Rafi's plan to pretend to be his fiancee because she is hopeful of a different future.
Both their futures will be changed in a way unimagined by the introduction of this one photograph.
Rotten Tomatoes gave the film 79% and described it as refreshing love story.
One reviewer said it was "an artful look at two misfits who find each other", another described "an engrossing and intriguing drama helped over the finishing line by the subtlety of it's performances.", while a third described "real charm... flows like poetry".
Photograph can be seen at Keighley Picture House, North Street, on February 16 at 6pm. Doors open at 5.35pm.
