WILD Wednesday! returns to the Brontë Parsonage Museum in Haworth for the February half-term holidays.
The family events will this year be themed around Anne Brontë, author of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, whose 200th anniversary is being celebrated throughout 2020.
Wild Wednesday! is on February 19, from 11am to 4pm, and will be entitled “Give me back my home!”.
It will allow children to create a wild garden of their own in miniature, using natural materials that can be found locally.
Anne worked as a governess in grand houses but loved her own home and hated to be away.
In one of her poems she compares the velvet lawns of where she is to the neglected knotted grass of her own garden.
The half-term will also see free talks and walks, hands-on-history history sessions and a craft workshop. Visit bronte.org.uk/whats-on for further information.
Brontë Treasures is a regular event which gives visitors a chance to go beyond the security cord at the museum for a close-up viewing of some of the items not on display.
The event runs at 2pm on February 28, March 27, April 24, May 29 and June 26. The cost is £85 per person. Book by visiting bronte.org.uk or calling 01535 640192.
