HERE are some jubilant residents of Steeton as they hold a VE party in 1945 on Market Street.
The picture was found by Jenny O'Brien when she looked through her father's belongings after he died about 18 months ago at the age of 85.
Jenny said: "My dad once told me the party was in an upstairs function room on Market Street.
"My dad was called Derek O'Brien, and he lived at 11 Market Street with his parents, Denis and Lena. He was 11 years old on this photo, and just about to start at Keighley Boys' Grammar School.
"He can be seen sitting at the table with a mortar board on... strange party attire, but funnily enough he later went on to be a headmaster! His mum Lena is also on the photo, along with his grandad, Ned O'Brien."
