TALENTED musicians from the Keighley area have come together online to perform a summer concert.
The half-hour show on YouTube was created by Keighley Rotary with the top entrants in its annual Young Musician Competition.
Rotary has held the contest for several years and had this year for the first time planned for the winners to present a live concert.
Covid-19 scuppered those plans, so the volunteer group asked finalists to film videos of themselves either singing or playing instruments.
Compered by the competition judges, the concert sees performances of classical music and songs from musicals using instruments including saxophone, guitar, cello and piano.
The nine young people are brought together at the end – in a three-by-three grid – for a joint performance of Somewhere Over The Rainbow .
A Rotary spokesman said: “We couldn’t stop the talent or enthusiasm of the musicians, judges or members of the Rotary Club of Keighley.”
Keighley Rotary Club has run a Young Musician competition for more than ten years, sending two contestants forward to the next round and, potentially, on to the national final.
Type Keighley Rotary - Young Musicians - Summer Concert into the YouTube search box to see the film. People watching the film are invited to make a JustGiving donation to help fund the next competition.
