A HEADTEACHER has paid tribute to staff, students and volunteers following the completion of in-school Covid-19 lateral flow testing.
A gym at South Craven School in Cross Hills was converted into a testing centre, where a mammoth 4,455 tests were carried out.
The school had been testing students and staff, in line with Government guidance, since its reopening.
Head Martyn Hill said: “I am so proud of how our staff and volunteer team have been able to set-up a fully-functioning Covid-19 testing centre and then successfully carry out thousands of tests on our students and staff in just two months.
“The team involved has worked all hours to set-up the centre, ensure all the procedures were risk-assessed, deal with hundreds of enquiries and safely test our staff and students in a kind, caring and efficient manner.
“The students were a credit to South Craven School. And the huge uptake for the testing has shown how much we care about our families and each other as a school community.
“Thanks go to everyone involved for making something so challenging such a huge success.”
