AN author has found the purr-fect way to help a charity.
Alison J Wainwright has donated 20 signed copies of her book, Coco the Cat, to Yorkshire Cat Rescue to raise funds for the cause.
She is also donating profits from e-book sales to the charity, which has a shop in Keighley.
Alison, from Bingley, said: “Charities have suffered from massively-reduced fundraising ability ever since the Covid restrictions started.
“When the pandemic hit I wanted to help by donating all the profits from my book sales and supplying copies to other non-profit organisations for them to sell themselves.
“For animal charities which have shops, their income has taken a huge hit every time retail has been closed down, but the animals are still in their shelters and still need food and medical treatment.”
Coco the Cat, aimed at five-to-eight-year-olds, is in circulation across the world and proving hugely popular.
Alison was thanked for the donation by Sara Atkinson, of Yorkshire Cat Rescue.
She said: “It really is kind of Alison to donate some of her lovely books to us.”
