Firefighters fought a blaze at Floors-2-Go in Worth Way, Keighley, this morning.

The fire had been started in a skip and spread into the building.

Firefighters - two wearing breathing apparatus - forced entry to the smoke-filled premises to tackle the blaze, which damaged insulation material and shelving. A special ventilation fan was then used to clear fumes from the building.

Two crews from Keighley Fire Station attended the incident, at 1.38am.

"We were on the scene quickly and once we had got into the building had the fire under control within a few minutes," said watch manager Mark Rogerson. "There was a lot of smoke and it took us about three quarters of an hour to clear that.

"We would ask businesses to think carefully about where they position bins and skips. Don't place them up against buildings and if feasible lock them shut at the end of the working day."
