A STRICTLY superfan waltzed away with a fundraising title following a special competition based on the hit BBC TV show.
Louise Pickin – from Cullingworth – was among just 12 NHS staff chosen from over 2,000 applicants to take part in the star-spangled Strictly Come Dancing-style contest, at Blackpool’s Winter Garden.
And although the community health nurse – who works for Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust – and her professional dance partner Adam Brunyee were pipped at the post for the dancing crown, Louise was the event’s top individual fundraiser.
She coined-in £4,269 for NHS charity partner, Blue Skies. Overall, the event raised more than £23,000.
“It was the best experience of my life,” said Louise.
“I’m so sad it’s over, it was a complete hoot. All the contestants were brilliant. We got to wear outfits from the BBC Strictly show and were judged by some of its best-known names. It was a dream come true.”
