It just had to happen, didn't it? Shortly after a team of volunteers from the Bradford & Bingley bank made improvements to a garden haven at the Clockhouse Project - along came the vandals to wreck it.

Not only did they destroy the garden, but over the last few weeks have also ripped tiles from the main roof building; set fire to a summerhouse; pulled water butts off walls and damaged a specially adapted minibus.

So much so Christmas was ruined for the youngsters at the home-from-home respite centre. It is heartbreaking.

Sadly, the situation is nothing new.

For several years teenagers have regularly gone into the secluded Clockhouse grounds, hanging around in the summerhouse, smoking and drinking cider.

What's more it is a scenario which is regularly repeated at other locations across all parts of the district. Combined with the added frustration that no one seems to be able to do anything which is stemming the flow of such anti-social behaviour, it is no wonder people are losing hope.

There is little point in making an appeal to the yobs responsible to step forward and face the music. But someone knows who they are.

Have the courage to pick up the phone and ring crimestoppers on 0845 6060606 and name names.

The only good thing to come out of this is that that good people of the area will step forward and answer the Clockhouse appeal.
