A CARE home found the recipe for fundraising success.
Residents and staff at Anchor’s Townend Close in Cross Hills got out their mixing bowls in support of annual cupcake day, staged by the Alzheimer’s Society.
After baking and decorating the cupcakes, the team sold them to members of the public from a stall in the car park.
Over £130 was raised for the society.
Among those who took part was 88-year-old resident, Mavis Viner.
“I really enjoyed the afternoon baking and it made me feel so happy to be helping such a good cause,” she said.
Townend Close manager, Sharon Mackie, said: “We had a great time and it was lovely to see people in the community buying our cupcakes while supporting such an important cause. We’ve many activities scheduled and residents especially love baking.”
