EMILY Bronte will be celebrated in Haworth on Yorkshire Day.
The Wuthering Heights author is the next featured ‘shero’ of the Herstorian Society, which spotlights a different female figure from history every month.
And a collection of Emily-inspired stationery and gifts produced by publisher Clavis & Claustra – which runs the society – will be launched at Wave of Nostalgia, in Main Street, Haworth, on Yorkshire Day, August 1.
The launch of the Emily Bronte box will take place at 2pm, with society founder Cat Crossley and Diane Park, of Wave of Nostalgia.
“I fell in love with Wuthering Heights as a teenager and it has been my favourite book ever since,” says Cat.
“Emily’s poetry too is incomparably atmospheric and intoxicating. To be able to celebrate her in Diane’s amazing bookshop on Yorkshire Day – and just yards away from her actual home – is a dream come true.”
Diane said: “I’m delighted that my shop has been chosen for the launch of the Herstorian Society’s new Emily Bronte box – and on Yorkshire Day as well! It should be a fantastic afternoon of Bronte inspiration.”
