A TRAINING workshop focussing on how to stage a wellbeing walk was held at Keighley’s Cliffe Castle Museum and park.
The session was designed by qualified Tai Chi for Health instructor Val Preston and centred on a successful wellbeing walk she developed with heritage parks officer Dan Palmer – with feedback from community groups which trialled the walk last year.
Among those taking part in the workshop were representatives from Project 6, Nebula Girls Group, Keighley Association for Women and Children Centre, Lion’s Den and Keighley Healthy Living.
Funding was provided by Bradford & District Community Empowerment Network Ltd – CNet – with backing from Bradford Council and Cliffe Castle Support Group.
A spokesperson said: “Participants were guided through the benefits of physical activity, the importance of wellbeing and how to plan a walk. They were then taken on the Cliffe Castle wellbeing walk and challenged to come-up with even more activities to make a walk interesting and exciting. The verdict was ‘an amazing session’.”
