A KEIGHLEY-district school has paid tribute to its year-13 students for an “excellent” set of A-level and BTEC results.

Martyn Hill – headteacher at South Craven School, Cross Hills – said he and colleagues were “immensely proud” of the pupils’ achievements.

Following the cancellation of exams due to the pandemic, results this year were decided through a process of teacher-assessed grades against a national standard.

Mr Hill said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted school year.

“I extend my congratulations and thanks to parents and families who have provided support to our students and the school during such testing times. I also thank the staff at South Craven who worked tirelessly to ensure our students achieved their potential and did so much to make these results possible.”

Head of year 13, Chris Fox, said: “The students have shown tremendous resilience through the most trying of times and they have been a real pleasure to work with from start to finish. It was great to see and hear from so many students on results day and we now wish them all the very best of luck in their future endeavours.”

Students will be studying at a range of universities and several are taking-up apprenticeships. The school is operating post-results support for any student who needs advice.
