"Wish you were here?" is the question asked by creative Keighley youngsters.

Young people from several parts of town made postcards showing their own neighbourhoods.

The Braithwaite, Highfield, Parkwood and Dalton Lane teenagers illustrated the places people their age go to.

Each group photographed their neighbourhoods then used computers to design four postcards.

Professional artists are finishing off the postcards and printing 1,000 for each group.

The project has been run by the Small World cultural arts group, which is based in central Keighley. The aim was to explore similarities faced by all young people and use shared experiences to break down barriers between them.

The project received a £15,230 grant from Keighley Area Committee, which is part of Bradford Council.

Committee funding also paid for heaters, signs and a reception area at the Russell Street base. Small World said the improvements would help the base become a better known and "brilliant" resource for young people. The group recently took on two new workers in addition to the freelance artists who lead some of the activities.
