Traffic calming on Spring Gardens Lane, in Keighley, has been given the go-ahead despite residents' objections.

Speed tables, parking restrictions and a cycle lane will be placed on the road, which runs past Holy Family School.

The measures, requested by residents and students' parents, aim to cut the speed of rat-run vehicles.

The plans had been adapted following objections from some other nearby residents.

Keighley Area Committee last Thursday approved the revised plans. Members asked for the parking situation to be monitored once the traffic calming was installed.

If a new road safety problem was created, the committee would look at possible solutions.
