PEOPLE across the district are being urged to put their best foot forward to mark World Mental Health Day.
A 16-mile walk is being staged along the canal towpath between Skipton and Saltaire on Sunday, October 10.
The event is being organised by the Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust charity, Better Lives.
Registration costs £5 per person and participants are also encouraged to raise money through sponsorship. All proceeds will go to the trust, which provides community and mental health services.
The walk will set off from Morrisons’ Skipton store at 9.30am and finish at the Half Moon Cafe, in Roberts Park, Saltaire. Free refreshments will be provided.
Catherine Jowitt, the care trust’s charity and volunteer lead, said: “World Mental Health Day is a really important event for us to mark. The money we raise will help us go the extra mile in supporting communities, but it is also an opportunity for us to come together and benefit from the boost that walking and getting out in nature can give.”
