A FIELD near Keighley Tarn can be used for camping during the spring and summer after plans for the site were approved.
The proposals, submitted to Bradford Council earlier this year, would see land at Tarn View Farm, Tarn Lane, used as a camping and caravan site for up to 34 pitches between March and September.
Submitted by a Mr and Mrs Hardy, the application would make the most of the boom in ‘staycations’ created by the Covid pandemic.
Following approval of the application by the council, the site is now allowed to host tents, caravans, motorhomes and glamping pods.
A planning report said: “It is considered that the use of the land as a campsite would preserve the openness of the green belt by reason of the transient nature of the use and the lack of permanent structures required to establish and maintain the use.
“The use would bring with it economic benefits to the local area and the tourist economy, such as visitor attractions, pubs, restaurants, etc.”
