THIS year we are urgently seeking people who can spare time to help with Keighley Poppy Appeal.
Due to ill health, the Poppy Appeal organiser has had to stand down. And we have also lost several of our helpers.
So, do you have a day or more, or even just an hour here and there, over the period from around October 1 to November 30?
We need help setting-up and labelling the poppy boxes and delivering and later collecting them all around the Keighley area.
We also need people to man the static collecting sites in supermarkets, we require street sellers, help counting and banking the money collected and general help with setting-up and packing away. If, as usual, we are fortunate to be allowed to use a shop in the Airedale Centre, we will need help manning that.
These are major tasks for a sadly-depleted group of volunteers, so please pull together and help us raise money for this charity which supports veterans of the armed forces, serving members of the forces and their dependents. Where are our younger veterans when we need you?
If you can help, please contact me on keighleypoppyappeal@gmail.com.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Jackie McGinnis, Keighley Poppy Appeal
