A CHARITY steak night resulted in a meaty donation for Manorlands.
The event, organised by former livestock buyer Michael Winchester, raised £1,500 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
Napiers Restaurant in Skipton hosted the event.
Steaks from locally-reared beef cattle were donated by Bradford-based Ralph Pearson Wholesale Butchers, weekly prime cattle purchasers at Skipton Auction Mart – where Mr Winchester is also a familiar face.
A meal-for-two offered by Napiers’ owners Ian and Julia Ackroyd was auctioned-off and surplus steaks also went under the hammer, wielded by Skipton Auction Mart livestock sales manager and auctioneer Ted Ogden.
Andrew Wood, community fundraising manager at Manorlands, thanked everyone involved in holding the event. “It’s a real boost to the care we are providing in the local area,” he added.
