YORKSHIRE Regiment soldiers are to perform a wreath-laying ceremony at Keighley war memorial.
A contingent of service personnel will be visiting 30 towns across the region, including Keighley, in the week leading-up to Remembrance Sunday to conduct private ceremonies.
Spearheading the initiative is Warrant Officer 1, Chris Edley, regimental sergeant major of the 4th Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, British Army Reserve.
He said: “Despite the restrictions and limitations we have faced over the last 18 months, both in our private lives and across the army, we are determined to carry out the important act of remembrance in our home county.
“And for remembrance 2021, we will be taking the time to remember in particular our ‘operational generation’ of younger veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
Soldiers from the regiment will also be parading at five towns and cities in the region on Remembrance Sunday itself.
