A KEIGHLEY-based charity has launched a calendar which it hopes will raise awareness and desperately-needed funds.
Aireworth Dogs in Need has produced the calendar after staging its annual photo competition.
Everyone who had adopted or fostered a dog from the charity was invited to submit a favourite picture of their pooch.
Committee members from the organisation then voted for their top 12 entries, with the winners making the pages of the calendar.
And the overall victor was chosen as the cover star.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “Each month features a different dog’s story, with a special collaboration for December and a touching tribute to a dog much-loved in our online community.
“The lucky overall winners this time are Milo the Saluki and his owner Jasmine, who were sent a copy of the calendar featuring their amazing photo – captured locally on Penistone Hill, Haworth.”
Milo was rehomed by Aireworth Dogs in Need in its early days of operation, having been initially signed-over as a puppy requiring care in 2015.
“Since then it is clear to see that the stunning boy has flourished in his forever home!” said the spokesperson.
“Aireworth Dogs in Need is a local charity, rehoming within the boundary of Keighley and the towns and villages immediately surrounding it.
“The calendar is full of heart-warming reminders of the work that our charity, run entirely by volunteers, manages to achieve each year.
“It would make a wonderful gift for any dog lover – and will help raise much-needed funds in the process.
“The last 18 months have been particularly difficult for the charity, with Covid-19 affecting not only fundraising but the number of requests for help. Also we have had to find ways to adapt in order to continue providing our services to the community.”
Copies of the calendar can be bought online at adincalendar.company.site.
It is also available from a number of outlets, including Perfect Pooches, in Gargrave; Riddlesden Post Office; Jayne’s hair salon, Bar Lane, Riddlesden; The Coffee Mill, in Otley Street, Skipton; Doggie Dolittle groomers, Keighley; The Paw Wash, in Thorlby; Pawfection Dog Grooming, in Cross Hills, and Cononley Village Store.
