A WINTER Wonderland is being staged in the grounds of Riddlesden St Mary’s Primary School.

Attractions at the event – being held next Thursday (November 25), between 2.30pm and 6pm – will include an outdoor market with stalls, a visit from Santa, donkey rides, bouncy castles, games and goodies.

A spokesperson for Riddlesden St Mary’s Parent Teacher Association said: “This is our first Winter Wonderland event and has been planned to bring some Christmas cheer and help fill the gap left by the cancellation of Riddlesden Gala.

“We hope the wider community will be able to pop along, say ‘hello’ and hopefully win some prizes – and that it will help people get into the Christmas spirit.”

Thanks are expressed to Keighley East district councillors Doreen Lee, Caroline Firth and Malcolm Slater for supporting the event with Covid recovery funding and to Keighley Big Local, which awarded a grant.

Cllr Firth said: “We’re keen to support the community to safely meet together again, boost wellbeing and give some normality to our younger residents – and this event does just that.”
