YOUNG people from across the district gave Bradford's UK City of Culture 2025 bid document a celebratory send-off as it headed to London.
Bradford is among eight 'longlisted' places across the UK which have now formally made their submissions to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Keighley woman Shanaz Gulzar, chair of the Bradford bid team, said: "This is a defining moment for the district.
"All the hard work over the last two years has generated an energy right across the district, giving rise to new collaborations, connections and creative conversations which have helped us produce what we feel is a winning bid."
Up to four cities will be shortlisted and finalists visited, before a winner is announced at the end of May.
