A trader has lashed out at "heartless" vandals who targeted one of his businesses three times in less than five hours.

Al Mirzaali, who owns the Indian and Chicken Ranch takeaway, in Church Street, Keighley, said the thugs caused up to £2,500 of damage.

The vandals attacked two delivery cars and a plate glass window in the early hours of Sunday.

Mr Mirzaali said: "This is not the first time this has happened but this has really hit me hard. I'm almost lost for words.

"They have no right to damage my property like this for no reason at all.

"All we're trying to do is make an honest living. This is cruel, heartless and ignorant."

He said the first incident occurred at about 2am, when a group of about five or six youths targeted a delivery car parked outside the takeaway.

He said they appeared to be trying to overturn the vehicle when they were spotted by staff who were still on duty. They fled the scene after inflicting only minor damage to the car.

But Mr Mirzaali said vandals returned to the premises at about 3.40am, by which time it was closed and empty. They shattered one of its plate glass windows, causing £900 in damage.

A third attack, after 6.30am, involved a second delivery car, which had two of its tyres slashed and its rear window destroyed.

Mr Mirzaali said he was sure the same group was responsible for all three offences.

He appealed to anyone who might have witnessed something to contact the police.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police confirmed officers were aware of the vandalism and were investigating the incidents.
